Covid-19 Update #3
We are now at Covid Alert Level 2 and thus able to play cricket, which is great.
As you would expect there are a number of rules that we must adhere to with being in Level 2 but I’m sure you’d agree that’s a small price to pay to have cricket being played.
Set out below is important detail so please do take the time to read and understand what is required for your grade.
Our key driver has been to get everyone back playing cricket as soon as the Alert Level allowed us and to do this in a way that provides our members a safe environment.
We are pleased that we have been able to achieve this.
Please make contact with the Club on email ecbayscricket@gmail.com or by phone 0275 825 693 should you have any queries.
Objective
To provide a safe environment whilst maximising playing opportunities.
Key Fundamentals
- Hygiene – hand sanitising stations will be set up at Windsor Park. All teams that are playing at other parks are encouraged to carry their own.
- Contact Tracing – contact tracing stations will set up at Windsor Park and we will also have people moving around the park with QR codes available for scanning when required. There are separate QR codes for the top field, the bottom field, the Cricket nets and in the Clubrooms should you need to use the toilet. QR scanning codes will be available at the parks you are playing at. These are likely to be at the entry to the Park or on changing shed facilities. It’s very important that we get all people scanning.
- Stay Home if Feeling Unwell – we encourage any member to stay at home if showing any symptoms. Please err on the side of caution. You won’t be letting down your team mates you’ll be helping them.
- Gatherings:
- We want to limit people at one venue and there can be no more than 100 people per defined space (Zone).
- A venue can have multiple defined spaces (Zones), however, you must maintain consistent 2m distancing between groups and be prevented from intermingling or sharing common facilities at the same time.
- When you can keep a 1m distance from others within your game and always maintain a 2m distance from those in other games and the wider public (this includes on and off-field)
- Windsor Park will be split into 6 zones. 4 will be on the bottom field and 2 on the top field.
- If you are playing away from Windsor Park then follow the directions of the Club responsible for the ground you are playing at.

ACA Competitions (includes all grades from U10s – Presidents)
- To meet our main objective and deliver all competitions within a safe environment, ACA has:
- Limited games per venue – if this is not possible, defined spaces will be actioned as per the above processes and communicated on a case-by-case basis.
- This will not be a major issue with grounds on the North Shore as most have less than 4 pitches and Windsor Park having 1 pitch.
- Please minimise non-active participants at the venue where possible – this includes supporters and parents.
- To minimise people on the ground and interaction between defined spaces there will be two distinct time-slots with no overlap, AM, and PM.
- AM – Junior morning T20 Grades - 8am to 10.30am – all people associated with these games must be off-site by 10.45am.
- PM – All afternoon grades cannot start until 12pm (or later) – and all people associated with these grades must not arrive on-site before 10.50am.
- Effectively this means that Premier Men, Reserve Men, and Premier Women will start at 12pm – all other grades will remain the same.
- There may be exceptions to the above based on venue. These will be worked through on a case-by-case basis and communicated as soon as possible.
- Please follow the directions of the Club responsible for the ground you are playing at and use the QR scanning codes at those grounds.
- All teams that are playing away from Windsor Park are encouraged to carry their own hand sanitiser.
- Any cricket equipment that is shared must be sanitised after each use. If you do not have any Wipes please buy and the Club will refund you.
- All L2 on-field playing conditions must be adhered to including;
- No saliva on the ball.
- Umpires or opposing team not to hold personal belongings i.e. when bowling.
- Only players within the specific game to touch the ball. Please note at overlapping grounds where balls may stray from one field to the next.
- Try to keep 1m distance from opposing players/umpires in the same game and 2m distance from players/supporters/umpires in other games within the same venue.
- The ACA will confirm and communicate all changes by Thursday evening 18th February through the draws.
Off-field
- The bar at Windsor Park will not be open on the Friday night. No services other than toilets will be available on the Saturday morning.
- The bar will be open on a Saturday afternoon and will meet all guidelines to running such operations under Level 2. These will be communicated to those members requiring a service at that time.
